About
Genevieve McCormick
Genevieve McCormick (They/ Them) is a New York based Costume Designer and native North Carolinian. Their work as a professional costumer largely consists of theater and a smattering of dance with both Design and Technology executions.
Genevieve graduated with a BFA in Painting and Drawing with a minor in Theater Production with an emphasis in Costume Design from East Carolina University. They are currently Attending New York University Tisch School of the Arts for their MFA in Costume Design.
Prior to Graduate School, Genevieve has worked as the Costume Shop Manager at East Carolina University, Head Costume Designer at Ocala Civic Theatre, and a Draper at Barrington Stage Company.
Their Fine Art work primarily focuses on high fantasy blended with various themes such as mental health, religious iconography, historical based silhouettes and overall fucking around and finding out. They pull inspiration from Rembrandt, Alphonse Mucha, Alexander McQueen, and the sleep paralysis demon haunting their bedroom corner.
When not wearing out their thimbles with hours of hand sewing, Genevieve can be found wandering graveyards and various woodland areas, reading horror, fantasy, and sometimes even sci-fi, painting in a sketchbook or drinking copious amounts of coffee.
